What’s Up Tyler
Hey y’all, this week I’ve got a big event coming up tomorrow in downtown that I’ve been promoting quite a bit on the instagram, Tyler’s Film Festival. Going from the 12th to the 13th, it will take up most of our weekend slots (2/3). This is a time to celebrate Tyler’s artistic scene & culture, and I look forward to being there myself! With all that said…

Tyler Tastes
Scratch Kitchen Provisions - Home cooked meals on wheels, hey that rhymes! I have been wanting to catch this food truck since I first noticed the fact that they serve pancakes on a food truck. That just sounds like a combination made in syrup laden heaven. You can check out where they’ll be here.

Old School Arcade Room - Very new, very cool, those are two verys I can use to describe this arcade. In a recent trip to Florida they had this exact kind of business, more of a museum with interactivity built into the display pieces, and at a 20$ all you can play price point, you don’t want to miss this place. P.S. THEY HAVE DIGDUG, MY FAVORITE RETRO GAME!
Local Spotlight
Tyler Culture
In this section I usually highlight a cool event venue, or business in Tyler. I believe I do enough of that with the rest of this newsletter, so I want to dedicate this section to highlighting local artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, anything you or I would consider important to the expressive culture of Tyler, Texas, will be highlighted here from here on out!
If you’re reading this and think too yourself “Oh cool I do artsy stuff!” or “I know someone who does those kinds of things!” I would LOVE to highlight what they do and how they contribute too the culture of creativity in Tyler!
Reply too this email with some cool art piece and the name of the person who made it, and I’ll highlight what I see here in the future! (bonus points of they do comissions / freelance work)
To kick off this new section, theres a Tyler Art Festival happening on the 13th at Caldwell Acadamy!
Impacting Tyler
SPCA East Texas - Fun Fact: I almost became their social media manager. Also fun fact: I love animals. Also ALSO fun fact: you can volunteer for SPCA East Texas to help all sorts of pets & animals have the quality of life they deserve before they find a forever home.
On The Horizon
East Texas State Fair - Next week’s edition this will be at the forefront of the newsletter as it is a major event going on, but for now, those who read the whole newsletter get all the details and heads up about cool stuff going on not this weekend. Lucky you!
The East Texas State Fair will run from the 19th to the 28th, but a cool event I noticed they put on as part of the fair is a rodeo. The rodeo itself is brand new to the fair, which I cleverly figured out by reading the words “first-ever-rodeo” on their website. It will run for the first few days of the event, showing many different rodeo related sporting events, with a $45,000 prize pool for the athletes that you’ll see.
You can read more about what’s in store and get your tickets on their website, but this final link is about their rodeo. Learn More Here
