What’s Up Tyler
Hey y’all, it’s been freezing cold. Roads are hazardous to drive on, but some people are still coming in to work anyway. If you see a lineman in or around Tyler, give em’ a thank you from me and your neighbors. Some areas of Tyler are still without power, but we know those lineman work tirelessly and often thanklessly to keep our lights on during storms like this. Please only leave your house if it is safe to do so!
It’s difficult to tell what is and what won’t be open this upcoming weekend, so today’s email should be taken with a grain of salt (and put that salt on the roads). With that said…

Emergency Resources
I don’t need to explain how bad this weather is, but there are a few resources I’ve been sharing on socials that I’ll forward here. No I don’t know when Walmart will be open.

Your Weekend Blueprint
FRI: Music & Fine Arts Festival @ TJC - From what I can gather this has not been cancelled, keep an eye out before you journey anywhere though. TJC is hosting a free Music and Fine Arts festival on their campus, featuring a symphony of classical musical expression and appreciation. Did I mention it’s free? I should mention that. Listen More Here
SAT: Open Makerspace @ Tyler Library - The Tyler Library is hosting a makerspace for all ages, family friendly, but open to all. Show up and show off the art skills you’ve been developing and dunk on a 3rd grader for their stick drawing that’s actually better than yours, but you wouldn’t tell them that. (Hypothetically) (Also might be closed due to weather) Make Their Space Here
SUN: Open Mic Music Recording Night @ Sky Bar & Grill - From what I understand this is a really cool event if you love live music, play an instrument, sing (even if it’s terrible, like me), or just want to enjoy the atmosphere of people expressing their artsy side for a studio audience. Gift Cards (Any restaurant in Tyler) - There are not many places I think will be open this weekend, so if you like any of the food places I’ve highlighted in the past, please go purchase a gift card from their website to help them survive this storm while they may have to close their doors.

Nerd Out
Boards & Bites Cafe - I recently (“recently”) finished a photoshoot for these guys, and I personally hang out there when I want to socialize in a space that speaks to nerdy people like yours truly. I see that they are opening back up whenever the weather allows, so if you have time make sure to give them a try! Board and Bite here
Tyler Culture
Rose City Artist Alliance - A small elite team of artists from around the world tyler area banding together to promote local artistry! Learn More About Them!

Impacting Tyler
East Texas Jeep Club - Though not a non profit themselves, these jeep enthusiasts have taken to the roads in our community’s time of need. I want to thank them and the other local groups and organizations that have stepped up to help their neighbors in Tyler when nobody asked them too, expected them too, but nevertheless came out to support those who needed it most. Find our more about them!
